Description
Volcano Jo is about a teenager, without his Dad in his life, who feels a great deal of anger and mistrust in the world. It explores how to begin communicating the felt sense of ‘danger’ underneath all anger.
Volcano Jo encourages children to recognise the value that others see in them and the potential that is, as yet ‘unfinished’. It highlights the role of peer relationships in exploring challenging subjects and helps children transition to developing relationships of their own making.
Volcano Jo uses descriptive language relating to sensations and emotions, to encourage the young body to become self-aware and recognise that such reactivity is understandable but not the ‘end point’.
